I have had the older version of the Felicity Party Treats put away for awhile for a future birthday gift for my DD. Are the new version of the treats better? I also have the older version of the Chocolate set New in a Box. I am wondering if I should get both new sets and sell these retired sets on e-Bay.

My new tea sets just came inthe mail yesterday! (I have theold ones as well) They are both really different so I am planning on keeping both. You can always buy the new ones and then return them, or keep them and sell the others on ebay. The tea treats wre about as expected....with the fruit connected in a circle and an unrealistic size pile of cookies. The plates are much nicer than I thought they would be as well as with the tea set. If your DD will be playing with them though, I think the new tea treats are better than the old ones only because there are less small parts. Let me know on your decision and if you have any other questions feel free to ask!

I have the old set and adore it. Despite it being delicate and lots of little parts it survive in completeness since my little sister and I started playing with it around the mid 1990s. If your daughter is careful with her toys, the little pieces will survive. I think the old set is much more playable- the food is not all stuck together so Felicity and Elizabeth can serve themselves some tarts or fruit wedges. As kids we also had fun making them picnic lunches out of the treats. And the statue and vase are lovely and make great decor items for Felicity's furniture, even when the food isn't out.
I do plan on getting the new set as well because after seeing Cherry's food on the tea plates, I find the set irresistable. The tea set looks very nice; I may get the tea treats just so I have the extra plates. Otherwise, I'm not very impressed with the new tea treats. Just my opinion- but I hate that the food is stuck together and it just doesn't look like the high quality of the glass salvers and all of the old one.

Thanks for all your input. It is really helpful. My DD is turning 11 in March, so I think she is now old enough to handle it. We are moving this summer, however, and I might wait to give it to her as a "housewarming" present. We will be moving 20 miles away, and I think she will be missing her old friends for awhile. So, I am saving Felicity's Table and Chairs, Chocolate Set and Party treats for her to set up in her new bedroom. We are painting the room blue, and she is getting Elizabeth's bed for her March birthday. I think the idea of setting up a new Felicity room will be fun for her with the move.

I had Felicity's table set up with the old party treats and chocolate set by my Christmas tree. My four year old neighbor was visiting and accidentally kicked the table over and everything went flying on the wood floor.
NOTHING broke. I was shocked.
It's definitely more durable than it looks!
